Citizen's Drop Off

the Open-top Trailers Adjacent to the Refuse Drop-off Area County residents in passenger vehicles may enter the Transfer Station at the Frederick Road/Route 355 entrance to drop off trash and recyclables. (details regarding trucks)

Recyclables accepted at the Transfer Station include:

There is no charge to residents who bring trash to the Transfer Station, provided that they have less than 500 pounds of material for disposal; there is no fee to residents bringing recyclables. The drop-off area is staffed during operating hours. Residents pull their cars directly up to containers and unload easily and quickly. When residents dispose of trash in the drop-off area, it falls directly into a open top trailer.

Arriving by truck (including pick-ups)?

If you are bringing trash, or a combination of trash and recyclables, by truck, you must enter the facility via the Truck Entrance on Shady Grove Road. Note that this entrance is closed on Sundays.
